Relationships

Doulas spend an average of 36 hours with their clients between prenatal visits, texts/phone support and check-ins, labor and birth, and postpartum visits.

During this time, we build a lasting relationship with our clients. We have meaningful conversations and learn the ins and outs of the decisions you are making about birth. We learn the little things that will make you feel supported through labor like your favorite snack or drink. We pack our bags with those favorite snacks, cooling towels, fans, chapstick, scrunchies… anything to make you feel safe and comfortable.

We sit in quiet support or keep you distracted by talking about your pets or favorite things. We encourage you through the uncomfortable and the unknown. All of these things possible through the relationship formed through pregnancy.

Support

All birth doula packages include two prenatal visits to discuss the birth you envision, continuous phone/text support from your date of hire through birth and two weeks postpartum, access to my library of resources, continuous labor support, and one postpartum visit (in person or virtual).

*A typical prenatal visit is an average of two hours long. During these visits, we discuss any fears or anxiety that you may have towards birth and learn together the ways we can work through them during pregnancy and labor. We will work on using our BRAIN to make informed decisions, work through birth options available at your birthing facility, and questions to ask your provider(s). We decrease decision fatigue by discussing interventions, newborn care options, and postpartum life. Lastly, we will walk through support techniques, breathing methods, and positioning— allowing you to relax and feel pampered. During our postpartum visit, we will chat about your birth story, the healing, the sleeping, and the feeding.
